EXAMINATION WAIVER
Did you know that you can become a licensed contractor in California without taking any examinations or without having the necessary experience required?
That’s right! If you are at least 18 years of age, you can become a licensed contractor in California.
If you don’t the have time to study for the examinations or don’t have the experience required to qualify for a contractor’s license, your construction business can obtain a state license if you are represented by someone else who will serve as the “qualifying individual” for the license.
A qualifying individual or simply a “qualifier,” is the person listed on the CSLB records who meets the experience and examination requirements for the license. A qualifier is required for every classification on each license issued by the CSLB.
